Why did Binance refuse my key, and how do I fix it?

Binance rejected the key itself, so auto-trading is switched off: create a new key with Enable Futures ticked, restricted to IP 91.99.78.29, save it at hafizebot.com/app/keys, then send /on.

The message you got: "Auto-trading is switched off: Binance refused your API key (invalid key, IP or permissions)" or, after /on, "Auto-trading stays off: Binance refused your API key (error -2015 …)".

What it means. Binance answered with one of its key errors before looking at any order: -2015 (invalid key, IP or permissions), -2014 (the key's format is wrong), -2008 (no such key) or -1022 (the signature does not match, usually a secret copied wrong). A key that fails once fails on every request until it is replaced, so the bot switches auto-trading off instead of retrying. This can happen when you send /on, when the bot starts up, or while it is trading. Positions already open on Binance are not touched.

The usual causes:

What to do:

  1. In Binance API Management, create a new key: tick Enable Futures, leave Enable Withdrawals off, and restrict it to 91.99.78.29.
  2. Log in at hafizebot.com/app/keys with Telegram and paste the key and secret there, never in a chat.
  3. Send /on in @hafizebot. The bot asks Binance once before switching on, so it tells you straight away if the key is still refused.
