What does "missed" (expired) mean?
A missed (expired) signal had no target within the maximum hold; it counts against the hit rate, and expiry never closes a position on your account; only /setMaxHold or /setDelistingClose, if you set them, close one at market.
- On the record: we count it as a miss. On /performance it counts against the target-hit rate, even if the price reaches the target later. We would rather understate than flatter.
- On your account: nothing is closed at expiry. Your position, its take-profit and any stop stay on Binance until they fill or you close them, so it can still reach its target afterwards. The only closes the bot makes for you are the ones you set: a maximum hold time (
/setMaxHold, Tier 3) closes a position the bot opened after that many hours, and/setDelistingClosecloses a position on a coin Binance is delisting, both with a market order. Neither depends on the signal's expiry. - Repeat signals: when the bot sends another signal on the same coin, it adds to your position, and with merged take-profits (
/combineTakeProfits, on by default for new members) one combined take-profit closes the whole position at the combined target. Rebuilt from Binance price history for our 2021–2024 archive, the positions still open at month end would have closed that way 99% of the time, half within six days, at a median +2.2% unleveraged, after a median 16% drawdown (the details). - Why a stop and modest leverage still matter: that drawdown alone would liquidate about four in ten of those positions at 5x.
- The maximum hold time is the same for every signal and is not published. From 3 October 2026 signals have longer to reach their target before they count as missed, and on 4 October 2026 every earlier month was scored again under the same hold, so all months follow one rule.
