/setBreakEven: move the stop to break-even once a trade is in profit

/setBreakEven sets how far in profit, from 0.2 to 50 percent, a position the bot opened must be before its stop moves to the break-even price and the bot stops adding to it; 0 or off (the default) turns it off, Tier 3.

A trade can go well into profit and then come all the way back to its stop. With a break-even stop set, once a position the bot opened is that many percent in profit from its average entry (a long above it, a short below it), the bot moves its stop to the position's break-even price, the price at which it closes with the trading fees covered. From then on, if the price turns back, the position closes there instead of at a loss. Positions you opened yourself are never touched. On a position the bot opened, though, the break-even stop closes the whole position on that coin when it fills, a part you added by hand included.

Questions

What happens when the stop moves?

The bot places one new stop at the break-even price for the whole position: when it fills, it closes everything you hold on that coin, a part you added by hand included. Only once Binance has accepted it does the bot cancel its earlier stops on that coin, so the position is never without a stop. Your take-profit, a trailing take-profit and the maximum hold time stay as they are. You get one message with the coin and the new stop price, unless your trade notices are off.

Does the bot still add to that coin?

No. Once the stop has moved, signals on that coin add nothing more to the position, and /lastsignals says so. Other coins are not affected, and once the position closes the coin is traded as usual again.

What if I turn it off, or my plan changes?

A stop already moved stays at break-even until that position closes, and the bot adds nothing to that coin until then. Turning the setting off, or a plan without Tier 3, only stops new moves.

Can the trade still close at a loss?

The stop sits at the break-even price, fees included, so a trade stopped there closes at about zero. In a fast market a stop order can fill a little past its price, so a small loss is still possible.

What does it cost?

A trade stopped at break-even gives up any rebound to its target: some trades dip back after being in profit and then go on to reach their target, and those close at about zero instead. A smaller percent moves the stop sooner and more often.

Why is this a Tier 3 setting?

It is one of the settings that come with the Tier 3 plan. Your plans and what they include: /plans.
